Are you looking to create the delicious taste of rotisserie style meals at home?  If so, you will be delighted to hear that you can get an appliance that does this job easily and cleanly right in your own home.  Although rotisserie ovens meant for home use have been around for decades, they have changed quite a bit over the years.  The older style units, like the Farberware rotisserie grill, were very popular, and many people actually still have these machines in their kitchens.  This old style of rotisserie had an open design, which meant that the hot air just escaped out.  Although this might have filled the house with the wonderful aroma of whatever was cooking, it sure used a lot of electricity.  These days, people are more conscious of the amount of electricity appliances use, so the designs have changed a little bit.

Most of the newer rotisserie models are fully enclosed, so the heat stays in.  Whatever you put in them will still cook the same, but the power usage will be a lot less. While the old Farberware rotisseries were horizontal units, the newer ones are vertical.  This means that they take up less counter space, and are only a little bit bigger than the size of a chicken that you would put in it.  In addition, they are safer as well, because the heating elements are on the sides instead of underneath, where hot oil drips on them.

If you have the room for it, the folks over at the Everything Kitchens website recommend getting a convection oven.  The reason is that many of these ovens can be used as a rotisserie as well.  They have attachments that incorporate the rotisserie spit stick, and motors that turn it.  I know many homes simply don’t have the room for another bulky appliance, but if you do, this is a great choice.
