  • Electric Airsoft Rifles – Effective Beginner Rifle

Posted on March 11th, 2010 No comments

Airsoft players sometimes faces a tough time in choosing the appropriate rifle among a wide range of rifles. Airsoft rifles work on different mechanisms and thus, serve different purposes. Spring rifles are highly popular because they offer reliability; on the other hand there are electric Airsoft rifles which are becoming increasingly popular these days. You will find many models and types of electric Airsoft guns, each one of them having certain distinctive characteristic.

Electric Airsoft rifles are powered by batteries. The batteries start the motor which throws or fires the bullet. The bullets have the potential to reach extremely high speeds. The major advantage that electric rifle offer is that it is much faster and powerful than a spring one. Also, the manual labor required in electric powered Airsoft gun is much less than a spring powered one. Electric Airsoft rifles also can fire more number of bullets per unit time. It is estimated that on an average an electric rifle fires 1800 rounds in one minute. Thus, these can give you a heavy advantage in the battlefield. These guns are fun and convenient. Usually, the electric guns require 4-5 hours to completely charge its battery.

These rifles look exactly the same as the real ones. No other gun manufacturer makes gun more aesthetically appealing than the ones manufactured by Airsoft. Airsoft has been a trusted name in gun manufacturing since long and that is why it is highly popular across the world.

In order to choose the best electric rifle, you should first acquire knowledge about various models and types. After going through their description you should decide upon which electric rifle suits you the most. Electric rifles differ in their size, battery back-up, rate of fire, ammunition etc. and thus, decision should be made only after consideration of these parameters.

  • MMORPGs

Posted on February 21st, 2010 No comments

An MMORPG differs from a normal role-playing game in that it takes place in a virtual world that is located on the internet, with sometimes thousands (or millions) of other players. Instead of only interacting with characters that have been created by game developers, you can interact with real people playing characters from their computers. Surprisingly, some of the most popular massively multiplayer online role playing games are from developers in the United States and not Japan.

Mazewar established the MMORPG genre in 1974. It was very simple game that allowed players to interact over a network from separate computers. It also managed to be the first first person shooter. Online games have evolved greatly since 1974 with two of the most popular games currently being World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XI.

In December of 2008, World of Warcraft (WoW) had eleven and a half million monthly subscription holders, giving it the record for most subscribed players of any massively multiplayer online role playing game. In the world of Azeroth, players can interact as one of many races and classes. Each race and class has different strengths and weaknesses and lead to a different type of gameplay. This is particularly true of the classes with big differences between playing as something like a warrior versus a priest.

As a member of the Alliance or Horde, you battle your way through different terrain to level up your character and gain new skills and equipment. Each class provides a different role when playing in a group. For example, a warrior is able to wear plate, giving him much higher resistance to physical attacks. This generally leads him to become the human punching bag, while a class such as a priest can heal the party away from danger.

Final Fantasy XI (also known as Final Fantasy Online) was released two years before WoW in 2002. A major difference with this game is its availability on Playstation 2 and Xbox 360 as well as the PC, versus WoW only being available on the computer. This game has a different type of gameplay from its predecessors and a few key differences that kept it from reaching the record number of subscribers that World of Warcraft reached. Despite not reaching this critical acclaim, it was still a bestselling game after its release and continues to be a favorite of many fans.

With the different kinds of customization and growth available to characters in this type of video game they become incredibly addicting. For some reason it is very satisfying to fit out a virtual character with the best possible equipment and skills. At the same time, these games can also be incredibly frustrating. With the amount of time and care that goes into building a character, more than one broken laptop has resulted from something not going as planned.

  • Guide to Getting the Villa in FarmVille

Posted on February 1st, 2010 No comments

Most experienced FarmVille players have heard of and seen the legendary Villa. The Villa is one of the home options in the game. Although it doesn’t benefit your gameplay, it’s a status symbol that lets you show off how much you’ve accomplished in the game. Because of this, getting a Villa for your farm becomes an aspirational goal for many Farmville farmers. But of course the Villa is very difficult to get, thus cementing its status as a rare item. First, you must be at least level 34 in the game to get it. Second, it costs a whopping 1 million coins. The good news is that if you follow a good Farmville crop profit guide, you’ll probably have that many coins by the time you reach level 34.

So getting the Farmville Villa isn’t really about a specific strategy as much as it is figuring out the best way to level up to 34 and make sure you have 1 million coins saved up once you get there. One of the great things about Farmville is that there are many ways to advance in the game, but the fastest way to level up is to focus on planting crops instead of harvesting animals or trees. It almost goes without saying that any strategy in Farmville benefits from adding as many neighbors as you possibly can. Having a bigger pool of neighbors will help you unlock the land expansions sooner, which in turn increases your rate of XP and coin gain.

There are a few great tricks that help with leveling up faster in the game. Depending on how much time you’re willing to spend in the game, you can focus on fast growth crops and leveraging the soybean delete glitch, or you can take things a little easier by just planting the most profitable long term crops. Here are the very best crops to plant for maximum return on a level by level basis. These picks are selected for their XP gain, although all of them are quite profitable from a coins perspective as well.

    Best Crops to Plant

    • Level 1-7: Strawberries
    • Level 8-16: Raspberries
    • Level 17-28: Blueberries
    • Level 29+: Blackberries

One additional trick you can use to improve your leveling rate is to use the Soybean delete trick. After you’ve planted your other crops, save one plot and plant soybeans on it. Next you immediately delete the soybeans with the shovel tool. Then keep repeating the process until you run out of time or patience it’s a lot of clicking! Each cycle effectively converts 30 coins into 3 XP. Plowing the plot costs 15 coins and planting soybeans costs another 15 coins. But you get 1 XP for plowing the plot and 2 XP for planting soybeans. Even though it can get tedious from all the clicking, if you keep repeating this cycle you’ll gain XP very quickly and the coins can always be earned again on the next planting cycle. This is especially useful early in the game when you have a lot of coins leftover after a planting cycle. It’s less efficient later on in the game, unless you really don’t mind all the clicking you’ll have to do.

It might seem like it’s far off, but stick with these tips and tricks and the Villa can be yours! Soon you’ll be watching over your farm from the comfort of your luxury villa!

  • Cornhole Bags – How to Avoid Low Quality

Posted on January 25th, 2010 No comments

If you have recently started playing the game of corn toss, then you know how important it is to purchase the right kind of cornhole bags.  Buying high-quality bags is essential if you want them to last longer than a few games.  Many manufacturers claim that their bags are strong, durable and able to take a beating.  However, there are a few tell-tale signs that indicate whether you have been ripped off with a substandard product.

First, if the company you buy your cornhole bags from refuses to mention what type of fabric they are using, then go somewhere else.  The failure to inform the buyer of the particular fabric material used is the first sign that the company in question is using a cheap, store-bought, low-grade fabric.  Many manufacturers use these materials because they are incredible low-cost, easily available, and the company assumes the buyer hasn’t done their homework, so therefore, doesn’t care.

If the bags have sport team logos imprinted on them, there is a good chance this material is not designed for the heavy duty use that cornhole requires.  This cheap variant, also called trigger cloth, is better suited for drapes and bed sheeting; not for cornhole bags which must stand up to the riggers and abuse of many years of play.  Make sure that any company you purchase your bags from uses a fabric called duck cloth, also known as duck canvas or cotton canvas.  This material is strong, durable and will not fray or unravel with heavy use.  Be sure the cloth is 10 oz-grade or higher – anything lower in grade is substandard material and a waste of your money.

Next, if you find your bags splitting open on a continuous basis and the corn-filler falling out, then it’s likely that the bags you purchased were stitched with poor quality thread.  Make sure the cornhole store specifies that it uses high-quality nylon thread.  Nylon thread resists elements such as moisture and UV rays and will stand the test of time.  Low-grade cotton or polyester threads don’t have the synthetic qualities of nylon and will lose their tensile strength very quickly.  Also, double or triple-stitched bags are best.

Lastly, to avoid buying cheap bags, make sure the manufacturer uses only whole kernel corn.  Cheaper filler material such as cracked corn, beans, or seeds will break down much faster than whole kernel corn and before you know it your bags could be nothing but a pile of mush.

If you take the above precautions you can avoid buying substandard cornhole bags and can be certain that you have purchased a high-quality product that will last a long time.

  • The Project Natal vs EyeToy Battle

Posted on January 19th, 2010 No comments

In the video gaming world, each company is always trying to improve.  This time we have Project Natal vs.  EyeToy from Playstation, and things are really starting to heat up in this battle.  A few years ago, Sony had a brand new idea for gaming called the EyeToy.  Recently, Microsoft has announced it’s plans to released an Xbox 360 peripheral that will compete withthe original EyeToy, as well as Sony’s new motion-controlling device being released.  The way that Project Natal works is by using two different cameras, one regular RGB camera as well as an infrared depth camera can can accurately judge distances.  The software then combines this data and can track your motions.  Now, instead of using your thumbs to play a video game, or some arm motions like on the Nintendo Wii, you can use your whole entire body to control the game.  No more controllers needed for some games, though not every game will use the Project Natal technology.

Although it may not be able to pick up every single motion detail of your body, ti will be able to read a huge majority of the motions that you will need to control the games.  The motion-controller coming from Sony uses the EyeToy as well as a wand and between the two it can track your arm movements to give you accurate control of on-screen stuff (think Wii on steroids).  Within the different games, the wand will be able to act as various things such as guns, or sports equipment.

Although different fan bases are debating about the two, Sony’s wand definitely has limitations and is too Wii-like to make a huge difference.  That is why Project Natal is probably going to win this battle.  If Xbox and Microsoft expand on Project Natal, it can take us one step further in video gaming.  Another great part of Project Natal is the ability to recognize voices to command some games.  Each company is trying to beat the other one, but only time will tell.  Although Sony may have a little bit of a lead when it comes to being released first, I believe that Microsoft will be able to catch up and surpass Sony’s offerings.  No matter which company wins, us video game players will be the true winners.

  • What Are Gogos Crazy Bones All About?

Posted on January 19th, 2010 No comments

In the late 90’s, Gogos Crazy Bones rose to popularity. They are small figurines that can be used in games or as collector’s items.

    Inspiration from Ancient Greece

The inspiration for Gogo’s Crazy Bones was found in a book from ancient Greece. In the book, kids played a game popular in ancient times, where it was known as Tabas. Back then, the figurines were made from sheep bone! Don’t worry, in the modern version they are made from plastic.

    Features

Literally hundreds of individual characters exist, each with a unique face and name. To make collection more interesting and more difficult, rare pieces exist in all the series. These can be bought on dedicated websites, or auction sites, and regularly sell for much more than their original price.

    How to Play

A large number, some say up to 40, games can be played using Gogos Crazy Bones. Here you have just a few examples.

The traditional game consists of flicking your Gogos, aiming at your opponent’s figurines. When knocking figurines over, you are awarded points. The number of points depends on how many you knocked over.

A simple variation is to draw a line. Each contestant then throws figures trying to hit the line. The winner is the person whose figurine is closest to the line.

Gogos Crazy Bones can also be used in a bowling game. Several pieces are lined up closely, so that they might knock each other over if they fall. Then you flick a final piece towards them, trying to get as many to fall as possible.

    The Future of the Bones

That Gogos Crazy Bones became as popular as they did, probably surprised many due to the simple nature of the toy. However, much of the popularity stems from the collectible nature. And maybe a clever marketing strategy? The fact is that Gogos Crazy Bones remain a popular fad and with the recent launch of Mega Gogos, ie super sized versions, this craze is not going away any time soon!

  • Designing Games with Blank Dice

Posted on January 11th, 2010 No comments

Almost all games have at least one element of randomness, whether this is the order of cards in a deck or the random roll of dice. Creating cards for your own games can be as easy as cutting up a piece of paper, but creating your own dice can be a little trickier. Fortunately, blank dice are available. These can be modified by applying stickers or by writing on them with marker (make sure to use non-permanent marker if you plan on modifying the dice again in the future.)

If you are interested in designing games, blank dice can be a great tool. A lot of games can be created with standard dice, but this can also be very limiting. Eventually you may reach a point in your design where you will want something other than the standard numbers to appear on the die faces. For example, you might want your game to use the standard numbers, but replace the six with a zero. Or, you may want to replace all of the numbers on the dice with pictures. This can be especially useful when designing games for small children.

Depending on the type of dice you have, you can either write directly on the dice with a non-permanent marker, or you can write on small stickers and attach those to the dice. If you are a stickler for true randomness, I’d recommend the type of dice that you can write on, because attached stickers will alter the surface of the dice, causing them to roll unevenly. This will lead to less than perfect randomness. If this is not that important to you, the stickers will do fine.

Remember also that there are more types of dice than the standard six sided ones. Specialty blank dice are available with four, six, eight, ten and even twenty sides. Using dice with a different number of sides can add another unique element to your game, especially when used in combination with each other. For a game about exploration, for example, you could label a four sided die with the cardinal directions, and use a ten sided die for distance.

  • Cheap Toy Cars

Posted on January 6th, 2010 No comments

Ever fancy a cool Ferrari or a BMW? Alright maybe you do not have enough cash to own one. But what if I told you that you can own some cool car toys? Well if you cannot have a real size car, why not settle for a car model? If the car model is too expensive, then maybe you can just have some kids toy cars for fun! Well yeah I guess that is a little far fetched but having a small toy car is still better than nothing at all, right? Anyways I am here to talk about toy cars that can be bought for cheap. Well there are all sorts of cheap toy cars out there including matchbox mattel and hot wheels toy cars and then there are also those toy car models for collectors. Do you remember micro machines? These are the very small toy cars that can be carried around and they are all so cool because their designs are detailed even though the cars are very small in size. Then there are special sets for these micro machines where you can carry the toys around and which also contain mini roads and buildings and bridges for micro machine fun!

The good thing about these cheap toys for kids is that they just love to play with cars! I guess one of the main reasons is that anything with wheels seem pretty fun and you can zoom the car around. Then other than cars you can also get other vehicles such as trucks vans buses and big four by four vehicles. Then there are other accessory sets that you can get for your car toys. These days things are so advanced that you can have car toys that can zoom upside down! I guess times have changed and now is not the age of small car toys anymore. You can find all kinds of cheap toys online.

Cartoon Network’s website has an Alien Force game creator application which allows you to design your own action games and give the rest of the world access. There is an easy to follow step by step process that leads you through building your game. You can customise it with a range of easy to use tools and then place it in the Cartoon Network game gallery where other fans of Ben Ten online games can play it and rate it. You can also play other people’s games from the gallery so it houses a wealth of options for Ben 10 fans. Children do not need to register to play or build games but will need to if they want to enter them into the gallery. All games in the gallery have been reviewed and approved by one of Cartoon Network’s moderators. This can take a short time so be patient if you are waiting for your game to appear as available to the public.
